Goals and cadence
A 1:1 and a Team page carry two things other pages do not.
Goals
A short list of what this relationship or team is working towards, each with an owner. They are agreed rather than announced, so either person can change one — there is no permission here that stops your report editing a goal.
What protects them instead is the record: every change to a goal is written to the page’s history and is never removed. Who changed what, and when. That is a deliberate trade — a goal you are not allowed to touch is a goal that stops being true and stays on the page anyway.
Goals are what disagreements are filed under, and what “drift” is measured against.
Cadence
How often you mean to meet — weekly, fortnightly, monthly. Two facts sit next to each other and the gap between them is the point:
- What the page says
- What your calendar shows actually happened
A page set to weekly whose last four meetings were a fortnight apart is worth knowing about, and Smoke will say so. A meeting nobody held leaves no trace, so a long gap is what “repeatedly cancelled” looks like from the inside.
Smoke says what the two facts are. It does not guess at why.
