Admins

Every page has at least one admin. Whoever makes a page is its first.

What an admin governs

The page’s frame — the things that are true of the page rather than on it:

• Who is on it
• What it is called
• What it is for
• Whether it is archived

What an admin does not govern

Its content. An admin has no more power over the lines on a page than anybody else on it. They cannot see anything a member cannot see, cannot edit what somebody else wrote on a 1:1, and have no special view of anybody’s drafts or reads.

This is deliberate and it is the reason the word is admin rather than owner. Owning a page would imply owning what is on it.

Never zero

A page always has at least one admin and at least one member. Both rules exist for the same reason: either would produce a page nobody can reach or repair. It is why the last admin has to name a successor before leaving.
